LinkedIn

Nick Babich is a software developer, UX researcher, and the longtime Editor-in-Chief of UX Planet, one of the web’s most widely read destinations for user-experience education. With more than 15 years of product development and design experience, Nick has built a reputation for translating complex UX concepts into clear, actionable guidance trusted by designers, founders, and product teams worldwide.

Nick began his career as a full-stack software engineer, developing enterprise applications and mobile experiences. This technical foundation shaped his user-experience philosophy: great design must be deeply aligned with engineering realities while remaining relentlessly focused on human behavior. His work later expanded into product design, usability testing, and UX writing, allowing him to bridge the gap between design and development in fast-moving product environments.

As Editor-in-Chief at UX Planet, Nick has authored and supervised hundreds of articles covering interaction design, accessibility, UX strategy, UI patterns, design psychology, onboarding, usability heuristics, and emerging design technologies. His work is regularly referenced in design education programs and internal design playbooks across companies ranging from early-stage startups to global enterprises.

Nick’s writing has been featured or referenced by industry-leading organizations, including:

  • Adobe Design (via Adobe XD blog and UX resources)
  • Smashing Magazine
  • Prototypr.io
  • UX Collective
  • Numerous university-level UX curricula and bootcamps

He is known for producing research-informed, practical UX frameworks, such as guidance on reducing cognitive load, designing effective mobile interfaces, improving user onboarding, and applying behavioral-science principles ethically in digital products.

Nick continues to collaborate with designers and product teams as a consultant, educator, and reviewer of UX practices, helping organizations adopt user-centered design methods, improve design-developer alignment, and build accessible, scalable digital experiences.

A strong advocate for continuous learning, Nick regularly experiments with emerging technologies including AI-assisted design workflows, design systems automation, and UX measurement frameworks. His goal remains the same: help teams create digital products that are intuitive, humane, and technologically sound.

When he isn’t writing or advising teams, Nick contributes to the UX community by speaking at design events, producing educational resources, and mentoring new designers—continuing his mission to make high-quality UX knowledge accessible to all.
